The Best Free YouTube Workout Videos You Can Do Anywhere.

I know I’m not the only one when I say I get bored with repetition, especially in my workout routine. I’ve tried workout plans that promise to “shave 10 pounds off in 28 days” and “get me that summer body I deserve,” but if I can’t stay motivated, how am I supposed to follow through? I need variety, I need rhythm, and I need something that won’t break the bank. So, after signing up for expensive plans for years, I decided to venture out and looked elsewhere for a budget-friendly platform, which led me to YouTube. What I found was surprising.

Everything has a price tag attached to it these days, but when you look in the right place, you can find freebies. These aren’t digitalized robot-like coaches with robot-like voices telling you to do 100 jumping jacks; these are bad-ass coaches who genuinely want you to succeed. Now, it’s not like I know them personally to confirm, but after one video, I just knew they have fun doing what they do, and their main goal is to inspire others to be the best they can be. So without further ado, these are the six best workout coaches or channels to watch when you’re ready to mix up your workout routine for free.

Christa DiPaolo (POPSUGAR Fitness)

POPSUGAR Fitness is a popular exercise platform with helpful tutorials, workouts, and exercise promoting health and wellness. There are a lot of great coaches under this umbrella, but Christa DiPaolo stands out. Known for her fast-paced kickboxing videos, Christa does it right by talking through each exercise, providing a fun environment filled with her frequent infectious laugh, and is always sporting fashionable workout gear. She offers a ton of videos that vary in time and difficulty, but overall, she keeps up the pace and the variety in each of her workouts.

Heather Robertson

Heather Robertson is a force to be reckoned with because she truly does it all. She is a fitness instructor, model, Instagram star, and YouTuber on many platforms, but to me, she’s most famous for her workout videos. She boasts 1.62M YouTube subscribers and has several programs that target specific goals. What’s great about her videos is that they are excellently choreographed, always have a good soundtrack, and are all well-executed. In a way, the tone of her videos is calming, and she’s not yelling at her teammates to do well. To me, that doesn’t work. Robertson specializes in HIIT-focused workouts that burn major calories.

Sydney Cummings

Sydney Cumming is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist based in Charlotte, NC. Cummings plays it solo during her videos but really takes the time to talk through each video to make sure her viewers are confident in doing the exercise. What’s also great about her videos is the variety. You can do a 30-minute total body workout on any given day, but then pivot and do a 45-minute Tabata workout the next day. She always has a smile on her face, which is a telling sign she loves her occupation.

Healthy Fit with Ty

When I want a good workout that will kick my butt, I search for Healthy Fit with Ty. Ty mixes up her workout with a combination of kickboxing, HIIT, and strength workouts and really has fun doing each and every one. A plus? Her music selection is paired really well with the workouts, and even though some videos do offer repetition, there are others that don’t keep things interesting. Like anyone else, it’s clear she’s a normal woman trying to make a living because, during a workout or two, her cute little girl has made an appearance.

MadFit

Since 2018, MadFit has gained 6.22M subscribers, and for a good reason. Owner Maddie Lymburner always makes sure she motivates and inspires her users during the workouts and offers varying workouts that target different body parts. She also provides an easy-to-navigate system based on which type of video the user wants to do that day. Finally, the duration of each varies, too, just in case you’re on the go and need to get in a quick workout.

Anna Renderer (POPSUGAR Fitness)

POPSUGAR Fitness is a hard platform to beat, based on the variety, and the stellar coaches. If you’ve ever done a workout through this channel, you’ve probably seen her partake or lead several workouts. What I love about Anna is that she always brings positivity, and always gives feedback throughout the way. She’s a likable coach and assures the viewers they can always modify their workouts based on what they feel comfortable with. Sometimes tough love is best served, but she’s just a breath of fresh air in the fitness community when it comes to Annay. If you need uplifting when you’re having a bad day, I’d suggest you make sure Anna is leading the video.

So there you have it! I didn’t even realize until I made the list that all of my favorite free YouTube workout videos are led by women. In my opinion, there’s no need to pay for expensive programs, as long as you have a basic YouTube account and a screen to watch videos. There’s something here for anyone, but I’d recommend starting with these badass women first.
